Igniting the “Spark” within – Sharing thoughts and ideas on success

Why isn’t your home based business growing?  Let me break it down for you.

The main reason your business (or any business, for that matter) isn’t growing is because you are not getting in front of enough people on a consistent basis.

Showing your products and or your opportunity to new people (prospects) is the key foundation of any home based business. The biggest problem most people have is fear and procrastination in doing the activities that could ultimately give you all the success you could ever want.

I reviewed a great book by Eric Worre, called “Go Pro – 7 Steps to Becoming a Network Marketing Professional”. The first 2 steps in Going Pro are:

  1. Finding Prospects
  2. Inviting Prospects to understand your products or opportunity.

I would recommend that to really get serious about building consistency in your prospecting efforts that you purchase this book and read it! (you can even download it to your kindle or other reader device)

Develop a plan for doing daily activities to build that consistency. We use a prospecting sheet that has all the names of people we have met and talked with about our business. If we miss a day, the we make it up on the next day. We also do events where we could meet with 5-25 new customer / distributor prospects in one day. Can you imagine what that would do for your business?

Wouldn’t you agree that anyone who is serious about their business can talk to 2 people a day? How would this change your business success? It doesn’t matter what company you are with, what product you represent or even how new or old you are in your business.  People are the lifeblood!

The power in just talking to 2 people a day about your business or your products is staggering. It may not seem like much that day (and on the other hand, it may seem like a TON) but at the end of the month you’ll have talked to 60 people. I would be willing to bet, if you are doing things correctly and keeping the needs of the person to whom you are speaking in mind, you are going to have some level of success to report back at the end of that month!

 Consistency in your home based business is CRITICAL!

If you are feeling overwhelmed and as if you are struggling, stop for a minute and determine what your 5 most important action steps are EACH DAY and EACH WEEK.

Certainly, talking to 2 people a day would move you forward if it was on your daily action list.

This could be calling 2 people about hosting a party for you; calling 2 people to ask – “who do you know who likes to get free stuff and have parties?”; calling 2 people to ask -“Who do you know who loves XYZ Products and might want to earn some extra income?”

Who do you know who wants to earn extra income in their own business?

The other option is to attend events where the potential exists to speak with multiple prospects at once. This could be networking meetings, local chamber events, meetup.com groups or even trade show events. The key is getting in front of many people in a short amount of time. Make contact with those people, introduce yourself and your company and go from there.

Try it and see what happens.
